This was in the Chappell at the Western Military Academy
It names all 1,011 of the WMA Alumni that Served in WWII,
The top half of the center column names 52 that were Killed in Action.
Gen. Paul Tibbets signed this photo for the Museum at the reunion of the Western Military Academy in Alton, Illinois from which he was a graduate.
This photo was taken of then Col. Paul Tibbets with his B-29 bomber "Enola Gay" (The bomber was named after his Mother) that dropped the first Atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan that helped to end WWII.

Made in ST. Louis, Missouri for the US Army Air Corps,
Used at Scott AFB as a Crash Truck. Then donated to the Macanda VFD near Carbondale, Illinois.
Ford M-20 6-Wheeled Armored Car outside of the AFM.
This had a 4 man crew with ring mounted M-2 .50 cal. Machine Gun & Bazooka.

Nicknamed the "Alligator"
Armored Amphibious Landing Craft used by U.S. Marines in WWII
Manufactured in ST. Louis, Missouri on North Broadway by ST. Louis Car Foundry,
The testing ground was in the Hall Street area & Water testing was conducted in Spanish Lake,
They were tested 2 at a time in case one of them had problems.
The "Duck" DUKW
As we found the "Duck" DUKW, before Restoration.
The ST. Louis, Missouri Army Reserve helped museum members recover the DUKW
in ST. Charles County, Missouri after being submerged in 3 floods over a period on 17 years.
The Finished Product, after 10 months of Restoration.
This photo (above) was taken at the open house,
at the GMC Plant (Natural Bridge & Union in ST. Louis, Missouri) where it was manufactured.
It was a Home Coming after 40 years.
This is the same DUKW at our current location.

The 1,980 lb. projectile could be propelled 27 miles when 3 111 lb. power bags were used.
"The Mighty MO" saw action in 4 Wars ( WWII, Korea, Vietnam & Desert Storm)
